Here's how we ensure a secure experience for everyone involved:

Verified Services, Central Ottawa

We're currently serving central Ottawa between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., Monday through Sunday. If you're not within our current service area, join our waiting list and help us expand to where you are!

Client Vetting

New clients undergo:

  • Submission of an Onboarding Form: To understand their basic needs and routines.

  • A Home Visit: To meet the client in person, verify access procedures and equipment functionality, and gain a better understanding of what their routine support and care needs are.

Attendant Compensation

Our attendants receive $30/hour as independent contractors, paid weekly upon receipt of their invoice and total hours.

Partnering with event organizers to champion top-tier accessibility at their events exemplifies our dedication to fostering an inclusive community, allowing people with disabilities to enjoy their experiences worry-free. Attendant Screening

Our attendants go through a rigorous vetting process.

  • Vulnerable Sector Check: Completed within 6 months prior to onboarding.

  • Valid CPR & First Aid Certification

  • Suitable Liability Insurance

  • Proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination

  • Virtual Interview: An interactive session to review skills and qualifications.

  • References: A minimum of two references is required to validate relevant work experience.

  • In-Person Meeting: To get a sense of their personality and professionalism in a real-world setting.

Use Whimble Responsibly

While we aim to assist with various needs, it's crucial to note that Whimble does not provide medical or emergency assistance. In the event of a life-threatening emergency or dangerous situation, please dial 911.

Prompt Service and Communication

Although we can't predict waiting times, our goal is swift responsiveness. Once you submit a request, expect our customer service team to reach out within 30 minutes to confirm details and provide waiting time estimates. If the wait is unacceptable, you can cancel at no charge.

Our Commitment to Caregiver Safety

  • Training and Resources: Whimble provides comprehensive training and resources to equip caregivers with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate various situations safely.

  • Regular Check-ins: We prioritize regular check-ins with our caregivers to ensure they feel supported and address any concerns they may have promptly.

  • Safety Protocols: Whimble has robust safety protocols in place, ensuring that caregivers have the necessary tools and information to handle every situation responsibly.

Transparent Pricing

Our beta service is priced at $35/hour (with a 1-hour minimum). Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments upon completion of services.
