Whimble x 2025 Canadian National Exhibition Case Study

Redefining Accessibility at Canada’s Largest Fair

Overview / Introduction

In summer 2025, Whimble Care Inc. partnered with the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) to make one of the country’s largest and most beloved public events more inclusive. Over 18 days, Whimble’s on-site attendant services empowered people with disabilities (PWD) to experience “The Ex” freely without barriers, stress, or compromise. The collaboration was widely celebrated by guests, staff, and media alike, setting a new benchmark for accessibility at major public gatherings.

The Challenge

Attending large-scale events can pose significant challenges for PWD. The CNE recognized a need for a service that would not just meet accessibility standards but truly enhance independence, dignity, and participation for their guests and staff with disabilities.

The Solution

Enter Whimble, a caretech platform that connects people with trained personal attendants on-demand care. From August 15 to September 1, Whimble deployed a team of compassionate, skilled attendants across CNE grounds. We provided over 300 accessible golf cart rides, 90+ washroom assists, 200+ Wheel-Trans and wayfinding supports, and 25+ meal assists, ensuring guests could navigate, dine, and enjoy every attraction with ease.

Services were accessible through QR code request forms, info booth guidance, and roaming attendants. Whether escorting seniors to concerts, helping guests purchase and eat food, or facilitating mobility device transfers, Whimble’s presence redefined what inclusive care looks like at scale.

The Results / Impact

The response was overwhelming. 98.5% of surveyed guests said they would recommend Whimble’s services, and at least seven guests shared that they would not have attended the CNE without this support. Attendants were consistently described as “kind,” “professional,” “patient,” and “life-changing.”

Beyond numbers, Whimble’s work expanded possibilities, turning “I can’t attend” into “I can’t wait to come back.” Guests expressed gratitude not only for the practical help but also for the emotional freedom it offered: the ability to attend as equals, partners, and friends, rather than as caregivers and dependents.

Voices from the Community

“This service made my visit to The Ex ten times better. I’m so grateful and hope to see it every year.”

“Being able to use Whimble gave me autonomy. My spouse could just be my partner, not my caregiver.”

“What a lovely staff member and a great service. Whimble will definitely be spread around by me in the future.”

The media echoed this praise. Toronto Today called the initiative “liberating” and “a first-of-its-kind offering at a major festival,” while Whimble’s press release announced the partnership as a “milestone in advancing accessible event experiences.”

The Whimble–CNE partnership proved that accessibility is not just a compliance goal, it’s a community value. By merging compassionate care with smart, responsive service delivery, Whimble is helping transform Canada’s largest fair into a truly inclusive celebration.
