Whimble for Attendants: privacy and your account

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Whimble for Attendants is the app Whimble Care Inc. makes for its attendants, who are independent contractors, to see and take shifts. This page explains what the app collects, why, who handles it, and how to delete your account.

What the app collects

  • Your name, as you want clients and our team to see it.

  • Your email address, used to sign you in.

  • The postal code of your home, used to show you shifts in the areas near you. We do not ask for your street address.

  • The areas you want to work in, your skills, your weekly availability, and, if you choose to tell us, your gender.

  • The date you accepted the attendant terms.

  • If you connect it, your Slack name and handle.

  • The shifts you take and release, and the reason you give when you release one.

  • A notification token for your phone, so we can send you shift alerts.

The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, payment details or health information. It does not use analytics or advertising tools, and it does not sell or share your information with advertisers.

What you see about clients

To help you choose shifts, the app shows a client's neighbourhood (never the street address), care needs, pronouns, preferences and pets. Use this information only to decide on and provide the shift, as your contractor agreement requires.

Who handles your information

Our team sees your information to review your application, schedule shifts and pay you. Clients see your name for shifts you take. We use service providers to run the app: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, hosting), Expo (sending notifications to your phone) and Slack (if you connect it).

Delete your account

You can delete your account and the information it holds at any time.

  1. Open Whimble for Attendants and sign in.

  2. Tap Profile.

  3. Tap Delete account, then confirm.

Your account is deleted right away, and you are signed out.

If your application has not been approved yet, open the app and tap Withdraw application on the waiting screen. This deletes your sign-up and everything you entered.

No access to the app? Email hello@whimble.ca from the address you use to sign in, with the subject "Delete my attendant account". We will confirm and delete your account within 30 days.

What we delete, and what we keep

We delete:

  • Your profile: name, home postal code, areas, skills, availability and gender.

  • Your sign-in account and email address.

  • Your phone's notification token.

  • The link between your account and your Slack account.

We keep:

  • Records of shifts you worked and the payments for them, because we must keep them for accounting and tax. We keep these for 6 years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires.

  • A short note in our records that the account was deleted, with no profile details.

  • Messages you posted in Whimble's Slack workspace stay in Slack. Ask us if you want them removed.
